Why the name Avonlea?
Avonlea (a-vuhn-lee) is a name that means so much to me. I have wonderful memories of my late Mom and I watching endless hours of one of our most treasured TV shows, Anne of Green Gables—set in the fictitious town of Avonlea. These memories helped craft my identity and placed me on the path I’m on now. If you know the show, you will know that the main character is a spirited redhead and my mom used to call me her Anne with ‘a’. Naming my business after this town was a way to thread my mom into what I am doing, which is all I ever wanted since she encouraged me to start this wild ride of helping couples on their special day.

Hello! My name is Anna Oien, owner of Avonlea Event Planning. I love events! Absolutely love ‘em. Whether it’s planning and coordinating your wedding or designing and organizing a birthday, I’m there. Special events are such unique memories that you and your loved ones will remember forever. Playing a small role in that gives me so much joy!
I am a fiery redhead who is in love with her husband and two furbabies (Forrest and Jenny). When I am not planning you can catch me working in my small local coffee shop or hitting the hiking trails with my husband.
